How to peel and devein shrimp in seconds!

Are you still using a fork to peel your shrimp? Or even worse, your bare hands?

There’s a better way to peel shrimp, easy, fast, and cleaner, you just need a very low-cost tool that will save a lot of time when you peel shrimps.

You’ll be peeling shrimp in seconds with practice!

We are talking about a shrimp peeler, there are different types and colors, the most popular is the red plastic made in the U.S.A. and is very efficient. After some practice, you could be peeling a pound of large shrimp (13-15) in an average of 1 minute.

Another great shrimp peeler is the Toadfish Frogmore Shrimp Cleaner, this is more expensive, but it has more functions, this shrimp tool allows you to peel, devein, and butterfly shrimp in one single smooth motion. It has very elegant design and is easy to use and is made in the U.S.A.

So, let’s go with the easy steps to peel a shrimp:

1. Take the head off the shrimp, hold the shrimp with one hand and use your thumb and index finger of your other hand to press and gently twist the head off. With practice you can do it with one hand only :)

2. Insert the tool right below the top of the shell.

3. Then you push the tool forward, while at the same time sliding the shrimp upwards towards the handle. Do not pull up on the tool, just keep straight.

4. The entire shrimp shell will be left on the shrimp peeler and cleaner. And the peeled, deveined, and butterflied (if you use the Frogmore tool) shrimp will be left in your hand.

5. Rinse the shrimp and you are done.

Easy, fast, and affordable way to peel pounds of shrimps.

You can buy any of these two tools online or in our store, located in Humble, Texas.
